The Youth Centre @ Moody Park Campaign Committee has launched a $200,000 fundraising campaign to furnish and equip New Westminster's first civic facility dedicated to youth. The City of New Westminster, Province of British Columbia, and Government of Canada have agreed to invest $2.33 million to build the 4,000 square foot facility. Construction will begin in Fall 2009 and is scheduled for completion in Spring 2010.

"The new youth centre not only addresses the needs of youth for a dedicated, safe and supervised space; it connects the generations and benefits both youth and older adults. This will develop into greater awareness and understanding of each other's needs and will provide an innovative model for future service delivery."
-Jan Greenhow, Century House Past President

"Youth with have our own safe, comfortable space where we can 'hang out' with friends, We will also be able to plan and participate in our own programs, such as fitness classes and creative arts activities. The Youth centre will also offer some counselling and outreach services for youth who may be experiencing difficulties. With the Youth Centre being added onto Century House, there will be opportunities to organize events so seniors and youth can become more familiar with each other."
